Sir,

366

Government House,

Hongkong, 11th. April, 1911.

ma. 32444

I have the honour to acknowledge

receipt of your Despatch No. 39 of 10th. February last and

to inform you that I propose to grant to Mr. J. F. Boulton a

pension at the rate of 2,380 at 3 shillings and 8 pence the

dollar or £436 6.8.

2.

This pension, as you will see from

the paper of particulars enclosed, is calculated on a serv-

-ice of 28 years although the actual period inclusive of

additions amounts to 27 years 11 months and 2 days only. In

view, however, of Mr. Boulton's merit and devotion to duty

and of a similar privilege having been granted in Mr.

Mudie's case, for particulars of which I would refer to the

Despatch noted in the margin, I have no hesitation in re-

-commending to your favourable consideration the necessary

addition in days to complete the year. I may note that as

Mr. Boulton joined the service in 1889 he comes under the

Pension

(0.0 .D.No.263 of 27th.September,

1904.)

M. 32 42

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE

LEWIS HARCOURT, M.P.,
